Moving Ohio Forward (MOF)

Under the Ohio Attorney General’s MOF program, the Land Bank undertook 431 demolitions (494 units). Demolitions were undertaken in 19 different jurisdictions throughout Stark County, with most of them being in the city of Canton. The MOF program was funded through settlements from five of the nation’s largest mortgage servicers over foreclosure abuses, fraud, and unfair and deceptive mortgage practices.

Neighborhood Initiative Program (NIP)

Under the Ohio Housing Finance Agency’s NIP program, the Land Bank undertook 797 demolitions (902 units) within targeted areas within the corporate limits of Canton, Alliance and Massillon. The NIP program was funded through Hardest Hit Funds (HHF) from the US Department of Treasury in order to stabilize property values by removing and greening vacant and blighted properties in targeted areas in an effort to prevent future foreclosures.
